Slide, which has been together since 2000. Slide isn't the typical Celtic band in a few other ways as well. Bracken said traditionally Irish Celtic bands originate in southern Ireland and play a lot of reels and jigs However, Slide plays more slides and polkas as well as using more of the keyboard and a Greek instrument called a bouzouki rather than guitar. The band members also grew up listening to modern music, which is often incorporated into their style and some of the songs they write themselves. There are not many bands in Ireland writing modern folk music, although it's more common in the US.
