Pimpinela
Joaquín and Lucía Galán, better known as Pimpinela are an Argentine duet famous for singing romantic relationship musical pieces and for their original style of singing. They have sold over 50 million records in Argentina.
Joaquín and Lucía Galán are siblings of Spanish settler ancestry, more accurately of an Asturian father and Leonese mother, thus making them Criollos. At first they sang for family members and friends, but later they went each to a solo career. Lucía Galán Cuervo (May 23, 1961) and Joaquín Roberto Galán Cuervo (July 21, 1953), were born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. At first, Joaquín joined the group "Luna de Cristal", while Lucía sang by herself.
In 1981 they recorded their first single together. It is well known that Joaquín was not eager to start with the group but was convinced to do otherwise by songwriter Luis Aguilé.
In 1984 their song "Olvídame y pega la vuelta" became a No. 1 hit. Others followed, and as they continued to rise, they became better in style.
