Julian Velard
Julian Velard (born 6 October 1979), is an American pianist and singer-songwriter, born and raised in New York City.
Velard was born and raised in New York City, New York. He attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts and Hampshire College, in Amherst, Massachusetts, where he studied under Yusef Lateef. He did the music for the Noah Buschel film, Bringing Rain, starring Adrian Grenier. Before moving to London and signing a UK based record deal in June 2007, Velard toured around America and released 3 indie records.
Following his departure from EMI, Velard began writing his follow-up to The Planeteer, Mr. Saturday Night (Album), produced by songwriters Jerry Abbott and Grant Black, and mixed by Steve Power. The album is scheduled for release in the UK on April 4, 2011 through Velard's own label, Planeteer records. Love Again For The First Time will be released as a single in the UK on March 10, 2011. In January of that year, Velard moved back to London to promote the new album.
